This
demo showcases SilverLining™ 's 3D clouds running in real-time
in a flythrough over a multi-threaded, geospecific terrain engine.
See how you can have 3D clouds in complex scenes, and still maintain
fast performance!
The demo runs itself, and shows off some of the main features of the
SilverLining™ library:
- Cumulus cloud decks with shadows
- Broken and solid stratus cloud decks
- Time of day effects and lighting on the clouds
- Thunderheads self-illuminated by lightning
Additionally, the demo features an "interactive" mode you
can toggle to experiment with different cloud types, parameters, times,
and simulated locations. Set up the scene just the way you want it,
and evaluate the performance and quality for yourself!
This demo is freely available, and requires a Windows 2000 or XP computer
with a 3D graphics accelerator card that supports OpenGL 1.2 or newer.

This
package will install the SilverLining™ libraries, headers, resources,
and documentation required to develop 3D applications with SilverLining™ .
Sample
code is also provided for both OpenGL and DirectX9 programmers.
The SDK may be freely downloaded and evaluated. However, a license
must be purchased to use SilverLining™ commercially. Without a valid
license code, applications linked with SilverLining™ will run for two
minutes before terminating.
In
order to use SilverLining™ without these restrictions, you must purchase
a license code.
Royalty-free
licenses are available on a per-product basis for $1500 USD.
You'll
get a license code which will fully unlock SilverLining™ for use in
your application, and access to top-tier developer support directly
from the author.
